This is  an awesome place to go!  Whether it’s to have a quick bite to eat, a refreshing drink, just hang out and chill on a beautiful day, with a group of friends, with your family or just for a date, it’s really nice.  What makes this place so awesome? The view.  The location.  Hands down!  It’s located at Washington Harbour, in Washington, D.C., right on the water.  Where we sat, we had a nice breeze, the sun was shining, but it wasn’t too hot.  We had the umbrellas over us, the hustle and bustle of people around us, music playing.  The ambiance was on point.  Fun and relaxing.

This was my first visit and unfortunately, our first waiter, he started our dining experience off on a bad note, a bothering note, but  luckily, the young gentleman that seated us, Shawn, he saved our day.  He pretty much took over our table, made sure our glasses were always filled with water, checked on us frequently, no matter how busy he got.  When our food came, any condiments that we asked for, anything that was missing, they were brought to our table quick, fast and in a hurry, with a smile on his face.  Customer service skills on point.

Seeing as though we were in D.C., all I have ever heard people talk about is Seafood.  Seafood. Seafood.  You must get seafood!  I hadn’t had my fix yet, so it was only fit to get….seafood, LoL!  The one thing that stuck out to me, the Crab Cake Sandwich.  I really wanted to dig my teeth into something, take a big bite of something.  I noticed that another one of their items on the menu, the Waterfront BLT, it came with this crab tarragon mayo.  How good does that sound?!  You can NEVER have too much seafood, so you know what I DID…”Could I get a side of the crab tarragon mayo with my sandwich?  Please and thank you!”  It was so good.  I kept the tomato and lettuce off, kept the pickles on for crunch and to add a punch to the sandwich, paired with the sweet lumps of crab in the crab cake and the crab tarragon mayo.  The bread was warm and soft, a little chewy.  I ate it all.  Not a crumb left.

If it wasn’t for Shawn, I have a feeling things would have gone totally different, but thankfully he took over and showed us a great time, served us a great meal and it was just an overall great visit at Nick’s!  If you’re ever in the D.C. area, near Washington Harbour, make a pit stop atNick’s, ask for Shawn.  He’ll definitely take care of you!
