This is a first and I’m SO excited and honored!

I was tagged and nominated by the lovely Llewsoba … THANK YOU CHICA : )

So, here are the rules:

The Liebster Award Rules:
1.  You must link back to the person who nominated you.
2.  You much answer the 10 Leibster questions given to you by the nominee before you.
3.  You must pick 10 bloggers to be nominated for the award, under 200 followers (I just nominated blogs I liked)
4.  You must come up with 10 questions for your nominees to answer
5.  You must go to their blogs and notify your nominees.

Check out MY Q&A responses:

1.   How many foundation/bases do you have right now and how many are the right color?

During the Summer, because of my oily skin, I try not to use foundation, I use concealer and powder to finish. When I DO use foundation, I love Revlon ColorStay & the color matches perfectly and MAC’s Studio Fix Fluid…love them both!

2.  If you could only use 3 makeup items on your face daily, which would they be?

MAC’s Spiked eyebrow pencil, Maybelline Falsies mascara and MAC’s Mineralized SkinFinish in Dark

3.  What is your most loved beauty item?

MAC’s Spiked Eyebrow Pencil…my eyebrows MUST be done in order for me to feel like my face is sorta made up

4.  Do you follow trends?

uuuuummmm…sometimes.  I will step out of the box and see what works for me and if I like it, I continue because I LIKE it.

5.  Do you enjoy blog tags?

It’s not a matter of enjoying them, but they do help a lot in searching for specific things.  They’re very helpful in searches and getting your stories, sites, blogs, word out there to the World, to the public.

6.  What is the one thing you hate doing in your skin care or beauty routine?

I hate to pluck & shape my eyebrows.  It’s so tedious, BUT the outcome, the results are great and they really shape my face.

7. If you could go back and tell your teenage self one makeup tip, which would it be?

Dove Unscented bar soap is great for clearing your skin up and just a great face wash PERIOD

8.  What is the one makeup trend new or old that you hate the most?

There’s nothing new or old that I hate.  There might be some trends that didn’t work on me, but on others, they look awesome

9.  Top 3 favorite eyeshadows?

MAC Soft Brown, Brown Script & Brule…all PERFECT for a natural neutral eye

10.  What are your views on Photoshop and makeup?

I think that as far as Photoshop is concerned, it’s getting out of hand.  All the apps that are available to soften and lighten people’s faces, their blemishes and what not’s…it’s not real.  MUAs are using those to try to make their makeup look better instead of showing their real work.  I’ve grown to love makeup, it’s a growing trend, topic, hobby, profession, BUT it’s not meant for everyone.

NOW…Here are MY nominees *drumroll*:

Naked Beauty

Scribbled with Liner

Makeup Morsels

Lipstick Hero

Bitching For Beauty

Now, here are MY questions for YOU lovely ladies:

1.  Whatever skin type you have, what’s your Go-To liquid foundation? Drugstore AND high end

2.  Lipstick…matte or glossy?

3.  What do you use to contour?

4.  What are the TOP 3 things you must keep in your makeup bag?

5.  Primer…what’s your fave?

6.  Bright eye & nude lip OR nude eye & popping lip?

7.  What took you the longest to learn makeup wise? Winged eye liner? Lip liner? Eyebrows?

8.  What are your favorite products to use for a smokey eye?

9.  What’s your favorite matte lip color?

10.  If you could create a new color for any makeup line, describe what that color would look like.

ENJOY LADIES…I hope my questions are to your liking, can’t wait to see the awesome answers : )

What is Birchbox you ask?  Well, for $10 a month, every month, I receive a selection of samples, whether they’re well-known brands or emerging brands, everything from skincare to makeup and even non-beauty goodies.  The samples come with master techniques and even ways to upgrade your daily routines with articles, interviews and videos.  That’s not it though, say you fall in love with one of the samples in your monthly Birchbox, you can purchase a full-size version right from the Birchbox Shop…so you’ve got a One Stop Shop right at your fingertips!

This month’s box, my first box, it’s dedicated to making the most of every minute; helping you take care of every situation.  What’s the inspiration? USA’s hit series SUITS.

So far, I’ve used the Benefit Cosmetics It’s Potent! Eye Cream, the DDF Acne Control Treatment and the theBalm Cosmetics InStain Long-Wearing Powder Staining Blush…and so far I like them all.   The eye cream, one thing that I do like, is that a little goes a long way.  It’s a cooling sensation when applied to under the eye.  As time goes by and I use it on a regular basis, I will hope to see a difference.  I apply the acne control treatment on top of my moisturizer, at night before I go to bed, and I’ve heard that there can be extreme dryness, but so far, I haven’t experienced that either.  The one product that I saw working right away was the blush.  I usually don’t go for warmer, red-toned blushes like the one that was in the Birchbox, but this one, when I applied it right, under my cheekbones, it was so pretty!

Other products in the box include Number 4 Super Comb Prep & Protect and for a Beauty Extra, Birchbox Bobby Pins.  If you haven’t signed up for Birchbox yet, ladies AND gentlemen (yes they do have boxes for the handsome men as well) you MUST…it’s well worth my $10 a month and this is just my first box!  The products are unbelievable and I mean it’s a surprise in the mail every month…GO SIGN UP ASAP!

I got a package in the mail today, just what I’ve been waiting on…my M.A.C. Retro Matte RiRi Boy!

I couldn’t wait to put it on, so I didn’t wait and I love it!

It’s definitely not as light lavender as I thought it would be.  It’s a lot darker than my eyes saw online and on other people, a mixture of dark purple and burgundy or wine.  I’m wearing it as I type this blog and it’s not dry to my lips at all and the lipstick stays in place, without bleeding.  I’ve fallen in love with the Retro Matte colors that I have from the RiRi Hearts Collection, which are RiRi Woo, check out my review on that, and RiRi Boy. They’re matte but moisturizing at the same time, the best of both Worlds!

I did decide to compare the RiRi Boy to some of the purples that I have in my makeup collection just so you can see what color purple RiRi Boy really is.  I picked everything from my lightest to my darkest shades.

(from left to right…OCC Lip Tar in Lydia, M.A.C. RIRI BOY, M.A.C. Violetta, M.A.C. Cyber, OCC Lip Tar in Hoochie & Maybelline’s Brazen Berry)

As you can see, it resembles closest to OCC Hoochie Lip Tar; a lot like it, but without the shine & gloss on my hand, BUT when the OCC Lip Tar does dry, it pretty much looks exactly like RiRi Boy.  I can’t wait to wear this color out and about.  It’s right up my alley.  The wait was well worth it.  Oh, by the way, I did get word that the RiRi Boy, specifically, will be in stores later this Fall.  So, if you missed out on it this time around, don’t be sad, you still have a chance!

After 3 long hours of computer refreshing and the message that my order was being processed, I finally won.  I hit the jackpot!  I missed the 1st launch, but this time around, I was on a mission and I succeeded.  I got my MAC RiRi Woo lipstick AND RiRi Boy, which is on backorder, but please believe it will be showing up on my front porch soon and very soon.

Just like every MAC product that I’ve ordered, which has always been lipstick, it came in a tightly sealed black box, filled with black tissue paper and RiRi Woo was laying so pretty in the center of the box, in it’s own little lipstick box. Of course the first thing you notice when you twist the lipstick up, is not only the bright red color, but most importantly, Rihanna’s unique signature on the actual lipstick itself.

MAC RiRi Woo

When I first put the color to my lips, the first thing that I noticed was the ease of putting it on.  It’s a lot softer that I thought it would be.  Yes, it has a matte finish, but it’s not nearly as dry as MAC’s Ruby Woo.  It’s like a moisturizing feeling, like a mixture between lip balm and lipstick.  I like it. A LOT.  I applied a layer of Maybelline’s Baby Lips before, not knowing beforehand how soft RiRi Woo would be and I didn’t apply lip liner.

The color is a bold, bright red.  It’s a matte finish, but not dry looking to the eye.  Compared to MAC’s Russian Red, there’s not nearly as much shine and RiRi Woo has more blue undertones.  I see a hint of orange, like a smidgen of orange in Russian Red compared to RiRi Woo.  Ok, I’ll just say, Russian Red is warmer, RiRi Woo is a cooler red.  Now, in my opinion, the only difference, in my eyes, as in what I see, between RiRi Woo & Ruby Woo is the names, because they look just alike!  If I had to choose between the two, I’d go with RiRi Woo, only because it feels better to my lips.  As a woman, I believe my lips should always look and feel soft no matter what. It’s a must.

As I stated earlier, my RiRi Boy is on backorder sadly, I can’t wait to receive that lovely lavender color and when I do, you will be the first to know my thoughts!
